Brass Shower Flow Control Valve with G1/2 Connections

Previous home owner left issues with this bathtub shower installation. Turning the water on to fill the tub caused a good amount of water to leak out of the shower head. This is caused by a couple of potential problems - both of which would have meant substantial rework to cut into the wall and fix. One problem is that the valve was installed upside down so it was trying to send water to the shower head first before gravity pushed it down and out the tub faucet. The other problem could be that they installed PEX flexible piping from the valve to the shower head instead of rigid copper per specs. Either cause is a pain to fix. Found out that these "volume" controls are a workaround to this type of situation. It took me literally 1 minute to install this.

After testing, it stopped the shower head from leaking water! I used too much teflon tape which I need to remove for a better looking install. My faucet I think is Moen but this brand matches the finish perfectly. I couldn't even find where Moen sells a "volume" control in the finish I needed. So I was very happy to find this brand. It is solid, well made, and the valve operates smoothly.

This was like a $10 fix that took 1 minute instead of tearing into a wall and spending a few hours replumbing a shower tub install.

This thing is great! I took the water saver out of the shower head and adjust the pressure and the flow with this valve. It’s nice to have the option of high pressure for shampoo rinsing etc. Plus installation was a breeze anybody could do it, well maybe some may require a step stool.

It is wonderful! I had a drip that wouldn't stop and now I just shut off the water and turn this valve and absolutely no leaking.

Great water flow restrictor. I use it primarily to stop the water flow during transitions and it has no leaks when fully shut off. Easy to install and fit the pipe and shower head with no issues.

Works well does not leak

Fit perfectly in my Moen magnetic shower faucet, and works well. Easy to install. Chrome matches. Looks durable.

After removing a water restriction O-ring from a Moen shower head the once pathetic drizzle of water that would barely shoot out of the half nozzle setting, turned into a raging flood. Although the much increased water volume was appreciated I needed to reduce the flow.

This device not fit the ideal function but was the only dark brass color I could find, even after checking Home Depot and Lowe’s both in store and online. The only bothersome issue to note is there are no product dimensions other the the male & female pipe end sizes. I needed to know the length and figured I would return it if length was an issue. Turns out the 2.5 inches (approximately) was just fine. An added bonus is a smartly designed valve that operates smoothly. I had the device installed in 10 minutes with no leakage in the on or off position.

I don't like a shower that has too much water pressure. This makes it adjustable for my husband and myself with a simple turn of the knob. I am 72 and had it attached in about 15 mins. Price point was affordable and they include everything you need for no leak attachment. Would recommend.

I installed this in my RV’s shower. From some initial testing, it seems to allow full flow if necessary down to completely off and everything in between. I predict that it will be a real water saver, which is why I bought it. I will update this review if it’s better or worse than I expect.

I live in a RV full time and have a large water tank, but try to make it last as long as possible. I did not want to install a non-adjustable1/4 gallon per minute filter in my shower. So, I thought this item would be a great, adjustable flow solution. And it is! Now I can take a super long hot shower while only using a tiny amount of water at a very slow flow. I can also speed it up to so my dishes or bathe the dogs, cram a quick shower in at a higher flow, or whatever. Truly a game changer, and the quality of the build seems nice and solid. Love it and will recommend to anyone who needs something like this.

This is a well made unit. Because this is an iron pipe fitting (tapered thread), when it's fully tightened, the operating lever might be in a less than optimal location. I was intending to use this unit on a wall mounted supply for a hand held shower. When fully tightened, the lever was difficult to access. The only way to know if it will work out is to try it.

I replaced a low flow shower head with one that allowed for 2.5gpm flow. However, with the water pressure we had it just seemed like it was just too much water being wasted. I added this and it seems to be really great quality and I can quickly adjust the flow as needed, i.e. full flow to rinse hair etc, and low flow when soaping up while still having enough flow to keep the water (and me) warm. I would caution users that have a handheld shower head (as I do) rather than a fixed head... The instructions have you install the valve at the hand-held end of the hose. However, I suggest you put in at the pipe end as if you had a fixed head. This will prevent excessive pressure stress on the hose and also makes it easier to adjust the flow anyway, IMHO.

The product was easy to install, looks and works great. The only negative, if at all, is that is does slightly reduce the overall flow of my shower - but that is probably a plus for the environment anyways.

My new shower head had the really low flow California flow restrictor that caused mass complaints from the women in my household with long hair. I removed the restrictor, but the flow was too much. Rather than fool around with finding the flow restrictor that worked, I bought this product. It works great because it is adjustable. I need less flow, so I can set it lower. My wife needs more flow so sets it higher. Problems solved and I'm convinced this actually saves more water because each person sets a flow that minimizes the time in the shower. Before, the women with long hair had to spend a lot more time in the shower to get the job done.

For YEARS, I have looked for a volume control valve that does not produce a loud hissing noise. This is caused by cavitation in the valve and for years the only volume control valve had an actuator the looked like a pin and slid back and forth in the housing and made a terrible hissing sound. Our shower control is very old and allows some tiny bit of water through. The landlord doesn’t see it as a problem (one drop every 30 seconds or so from the shower head) but I had a mold and mildew problem as a result . This little device, so easy to install, allows me to shut off that tiny leak completely between showers. So, so happy about that!!! It will also allow me to reduce the water flow as much or little as I want. Not a bad thing in drought plagued CA.
