I bought this pipe extender and another brand. I prefer this one because it’s thicker and has a flat part on the lip for using a wrench. The other brand doesn’t have that.

Great this is all metal. Added this to a kohler assert hose shower head with flow restriction removed and the setup rocks. Added this because splashing above the 6 foot surround onto the drywall. No splash anymore.

Finicky instalation
It's hard to install the shower arm if you get it slightly to tight it leaks. A little to loose and it leaks. Instead of being NPT they use a rubber washer like a hose washer but smaller. I finally got to not leak but if it was a regular pipe thread it would install much easier.

Adjustment to lower handheld shower head
I got the FEELSO Filtered Handheld Shower Head from Amazon, but the mount part that attaches to your existing shower arm pipe was too short (picture circled red), thus making the showerhead too high for a shorter person (5 foot 3 inches) to reach up and comfortably remove & replace the head in the mount. So I purchased separately this Bright Showers Shower Arm 4 inch extension pipe to lower the shower head mount closer to the floor (picture circled green). It was easy to install and does not leak. Works perfectly for my needs!

Finally a STEEL shower pipe extension
Not a fan of all the other cheap plastic plumbing shower products that can easily crack when installing if not really careful. This is a solid steel pipe that will last for many years. Install was easy, doesn't restrict water flow and a great value.

Lowered our shower head
Was perfect for lowering the shower head with a hand held sprayer. Now I can reach the hand held shower head to use it.
